This field trip offers a guided tour with insights into Frank Lloyd Wright's family life and architectural career in Oak Park. Frank Lloyd Wright used his first home to experiment with design concepts that contain the seeds of his architectural philosophy.
In his adjacent studio, Wright and his associates developed a new American architecture - the Prairie style. After visiting the Home and Studio, we will take a three-block walk to the Unity Temple. Designed in Wright’s Oak Park Studio for his own Unitarian congregation, it is one of the first public buildings in America to feature exposed concrete and is Wright’s greatest public building of his Prairie era.
Transportation provided. Meet at IIT's Crown Hall at 7:30am.
THE BUS WILL DEPART BY 7:45AM AND RETURN BY 1:00PM.
The actual tour will run from 8:50 AM to 12:00 PM.
Please join us for our next general body meeting. At all of our general body meetings, we tour local design firms, where we network and get a taste of their office culture. We hope to see you there!

I-NOMA will be partnering with Arquitectos for the 2018 Rebuilding together. We will work to transform the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of our homes and revitalizing our communities. Work in the form of painting, cleaning and small interior renovations. Since INOMA will be collaborating with Arquitectos we will only need 5 - 10 volunteers.

"Design + Public Impact" will create a dialogue about how we as designers can and should use our skill set to contribute to fighting for social justice issues. This is not a conversation only for architects, but it is one that is long overdue for ALL professions. We have speakers from across disciplines, with experience in architecture, urban planning, real estate, social work, and more.
