Last fall I-NOMA sent notice about the proposed revisions to the by-laws. Ahead of this years national conference, members will have the chance to vote on adopting these new by-laws at the September General Body Meeting. Ahead of the meeting, members will have access to the proposed by-laws, and a chance to ask questions and provide comments at our By-Law Webinar hosted by our parliamentarian,  Neşe Altıntaş  .

Black Women in Architecture Network Annual Brunch

I-NOMA is a proud sponsor of the 2026 Black Women in Architecture Annual Brunch. The Chicago event will be an in-person brunch where we will enjoy time networking and connecting before tuning in for the national virtual program. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect and build community with other Black Women in the Chicagoland architecture community!

This year’s event will be graciously hosted at Sloan’s beautiful showroom in West Loop. We hope to see you there!

The Black Women in Architecture Network is a growing group in the architecture profession. The organization is a resource for the over 600 U.S. licensed Black women architects and those aspiring to become architects, and other women in design, planning, and the allied professions to provide a network of support and community.

2026 I-NOMA at the Bud Billiken Parade & Cookout

I-NOMA members, friends and family: I-NOMA is participating in the annual Bud Billiken parade to celebrate another successful year of Project Pipeline! Alongside our Project Pipeline students , volunteers and executive board, we invite members to join us as we march during the parade!

We're celebrating with a Cookout following the parade with food and fun at Washington Park. We will start the annual cookout at Washington Park around 11:00 am.

Please RSVP here to let us know you're coming, if you're bringing anything, if you can assist with setup,  etc. BYOB. We will also be using the website RSVP as the day of contact list, so please, complete your RSVP there. Details below!

I-NOMA is Spot #115 along the parade route. I-NOMA leaders will be at the staging area before 9am to confirm our spot with the parade marshals. If you are planning to walk with I-NOMA we recommend meeting us at the staging area by 10am at the latest to get settled. Due to our location in the queue of the parade, we anticipate having to wait at least an hour before we walk. Members joining us along the parade route are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket to sit while waiting. We will have some carts to carry supplies during the parade but please be prepared to carry whatever you bring just in case.

REMINDER: We will not be using a personal vehicle for this years parade and will be walking with our banner and passing out flyers. Please wear comfortable shoes and hydrate!

I-NOMA will simultaneously be setting up for our annual cookout starting at 11am. As our members and allies march along the parade, we will begin the cookout at 11am and adjourn by 5pm. We anticipate parade walkers won’t be able to join the cookout until 2pm.

We are still looking for members who can assist with setup, grilling and staging for the event. Please RSVP at the link above if your able and we will use the RSVP information for day-of contact.

Project Pipeline Summer Camp 2026

THE TRADITION CONTINUES - I-NOMA SUMMER CAMP JULY 30TH-AUGUST 4TH 2025!

The PROJECT PIPELINE CAMP is a process driven architecture camp for students to work individually and collaboratively in order to address community-focused issues through creativity and design innovation. The camp provides 6th-8th grade students of color with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of architecture and design. By the end of the camp, Pipeline students will have created the new building blocks of a better city, and designed a community that reflects their cultural, academic, and design interests! For sponsorship opportunities, email projectpipeline@i-noma.org.

VOLUNTEERS: Please note a complementary background check is required, so make sure to register ASAP so you are cleared in time!

Please join I-NOMA member Brian Haynes for a construction site tour of a single family home under gut renovation. During this construction tour you’ll get the chance to learn about Architect as Developer from a first-time rehabber as well as discuss alternative development models!

After the tour, we will head to a local restaurant for a group lunch.

Please join I-NOMA Wednesday, June 11th from 5:30-8pm for a Private Tour and Panel Discussions with the Architecture and MEP teams behind the brand new, Academy of Global Citzenship (AGC). RSVP at the link below - the event will be capped at 40 guests. Tickets are $15 and refreshments will be provided. We will close the RSVP list once we reach capacity and start a waitlist.
