Illinois ASCE offers Scholarships for Engineering Summer Camp

This scholarship is for minority students to attend the Introduction to Engineering Program, a two week summer camp at the University of Notre Dame where students are exposed to career opportunities available in engineering. The university provides an overview of the elements of engineering design and computer programming, a tour of their computer facilities, a chance to meet professional engineers, and much more.

Every year, the Committee offers scholarships to students of minority background to attend the Introduction to Engineering Program two-week summer camp. For the selected students, the Committee covers the entire cost of the program including room and board and any travel expenses ($1950 value).

IEP is seeking Chicago-area students (high school Juniors) who are proficient in math and science and that have shown a strong interest in attending college.  To apply, the students need to submit: (1) scholarship application form, (2) essay, (3) transcript, and (4) letter of recommendation by March 13, 2017.  It is an exciting camp, so make sure to take advantage of this opportunity and pass it on to someone you know!
